Lululemon Black Friday IN-STORE VS ONLINE [2018]

I wanted to experience Lululemon’s Black Friday events both online and in-store to see what the differences were (if there were any) and which platform offered the best deals. Lululemon has offered amazing deals in the past (i.e. $20 tank tops) during Black Friday and I was hoping to snag something special.

Lululemon Black Friday ONLINE Deals

The Lululemon online Black Friday sale launched on Thanksgiving day, November 22nd at 8 a.m. EST. Almost immediately the site went down because of the volume of shoppers trying to check out. This frustrated shoppers because they could not check out and carts started adjusting to reflect out of stock product. Some waited hours before they could check out. I’m somewhat glad I didn’t attempt to shop early online.

Online Black Friday merchandise seemed plentiful but I felt the deals were OK. Most merchandise seemed to be on We Made Too Much (WMTM) for a while. The biggest discount was 60% off APL shoes. Below are images from the online sale. This is not all of the products offered during their online sale. I highlighted some deals that I thought might be Black Friday worthy. Lululemon Black Friday IN-STORE Deals

I visited the Pacific Place Mall location in Seattle, Wash. and found the in-store selection and deals to be much better! The selection was limited and there were one-offs that were not available online. I was able to snag a Swing Trench in true navy for only $99 (56% off). I was able to use my Sweat Collective discount (additional 25% off), making the jacket only $74.25 (67% off)! The original MSRP is $228 and the Swing Trench is still available online at FULL PRICE. Many tanks and tops were only $29-34, much less than prices listed online.

I was hoping for some Fast and Free tights in Nulux but those were not available in-store. There were no doorbusters or additional discounts on Black Friday merchandise. I asked if they were going to release more merchandise throughout the day and the store associate said, “No.” They had 5 discounted racks and plenty of merchandise to last the entire day. Most were repeats of what is already offered online. I’ve also shopped the day after Black Friday and found some steals. I recommend shopping both days if you have time.

Lululemon Cyber Monday Deals 2018

The Lululemon online Cyber Monday sale launched and presented the same merchandise from their Black Friday sales. I was really disappointed.

I’ve rarely ever bought anything from an online Lululemon Black Friday or online warehouse sale. After this experience, I’d much rather visit a physical store to shop. I tend to find much better deals in person. Next year I’ll be making my way up to the Lululemon outlets to see how the deals are during Black Friday!
