We love visiting places and searching for sunflower fields. My Vietnamese name is Huong Duong, which means Sunflower in Vietnamese. FInding sunflower fields is one of my favorite travel activities. It typically gets me off the beaten path and who doesn’t LOVE sunflowers!

Below is my bucket list of sunflower fields to visit while traveling all over the world. I hope this list inspires you to get out and smell the sunflowers too!

Destinations with Sunflower Fields

I organized my list of sunflower fields by country. Click on the country below to get to the list of sunflower fields in that destination.

Canada

The Sunflower Farm in Beaverton, Ontario is owned and operated by Ursula, the Sunflower Farmer!

Portugal

We found sunflower fields along highway N258-1, just south of Cuba, Portugal. The highway connects the towns of Cuba and São Matias in the Beja District, Alentejo Region of Portugal. The fields were huge and lined the highway on both sides. You can safely turn onto the edge of the fields without blocking traffic to explore the fields.

The highway is best reached by car. The drive is about 2 hours from Lisbon and 2 hours from Lagos.

The best time to visit the fields is between mid-July to mid-September when many fields are in bloom. It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re driving in this area during those months.

Turkey

Cappadocia

There are sunflowers EVERYWHERE in Cappadocia, Turkey. As soon as you get out of the airport and start heading to the towns of Goreme or Urgup, you’ll see sunflowers lining up the sides of the road. The fields are small and appear to be growing wild. I did not see a large field when I visited Cappadocia.
