ColourPop Golden Hour Palette

About ColourPop

ColourPop is an online-only (direct-to-consumer) beauty brand. They offer fun and bright makeup that is very affordable and accessible.

They are part of the SEED Beauty family and are considered a fast makeup brand. Most of their products are under $10 and when it’s on sale, it’s ON SALE. I’m talking $2 and under when they’re trying to clear out-of-season products.

ColourPop is based in Southern California and was founded in 2014 by siblings Laura and John Nelson. They’re known for their cruelty-free and affordable cosmetics.

In this post, we’ll review if their affordable makeup is worth it, the pros and cons, and where to buy ColourPop.

ColourPop Review

We have received a good amount of ColourPop products to review:

  • Super Shock Shadow ($7) – Their eye shadows are very creamy and easily glide onto skin. They offer many color swatches. In terms of cleaning, they’re easy to wash off and stay on throughout the day.
  • Ultra Matte Lip ($9) – Their matte lipcolors dry quickly but are not long-lasting. The colors also dry to a lighter shade than what is advertised.
  • Lippie Stix ($8) – I love their creamy lipsticks! These pen-shaped lipsticks are great for daily wear. The colors are true to shade and I love that they come in so many shades to choose from.
  • Going Coconuts Shadow Palette ($14) – I am obsesed with their shadow palettes. The colors are so vibrant, fun and last all day!
  • SO JUICY Plumping Lip Oil ($10) – LIP OIL IS MY BEST FRIEND! I am so glad they offer an affordable lip oil. My lips are always dry so it’s nice to have an affordable lip oil that I can wear on a daily basis.
  • SO JUICY Plumping Lip Balm ($10) – Same with their SO JUICE lip balms! The formula is so creamy and moisturizing. The color is slightly see-through and true to what’s advertised.

ColourPop Pros

  • VERY Affordable – All their products are $14 or less. The majority of ColourPop products are priced at $10 or less.
  • Very Pigmented – Their colors are super pigmented and last all day long.
  • Moisturizing Formula
  • Certified cruelty-free and not tested on animals.
  • Offer a wide variety of colors.

ColourPop Cons

  • Pressed powders crack easily. I typically stow my shadows in my toiletry or makeup bag, and they crack during transport. They’re still usable, so it’s not that big of a deal.
  • Fast Fashion of makeup
  • Not all product colors apply as advertised. Matte lip colors apply lighter than they are advertised.

Should I Buy ColourP0p?

Yes! We highly recommend ColourPop. It’s affordable, the colors are great and apply really well.

The only products we would not recommend are the matte lip colors. They dry lighter than what’s advertised.

All their products are priced really fairly and this makes them an accessible beauty brand to many.

Where to Buy ColourPop

You can shop for ColourPop products online.

We also recommend checking out their sales section for some awesome deals! You can easily find items for as little as $2 USD.
