lululemon Base Pace Tights Review

We received the Base Pace Tights (BPT) in Dark Red to review in this post. I chose the 25″ inseam and am 5’5″ tall for reference. The length gave me plenty of coverage and allowed my ankles to breathe.

Below we’ll discuss the pros and cons of the Base Pace Tights.

Base Pace Tights Pros

  • Very stretchy – The Nulux fabric is very stretchy and great for warm weather.
  • Comes in different lengths. The BPTs come in 17″, 25″, 28″ and 31″ lengths.
  • Size inclusive – BPTs are offered in sizes ranging from 0 to 20 (or 2X).
  • Lightweight
  • Sweat-wicking
  • Quick Drying
  • Pocket on inner waistband.
  • Comes in many colors and patterns.

Base Pace Tights Cons

  • No outer pockets! I was scrambling for pockets as I was traveling. If you need pants with side or outer pockets, I highly recommend giving lululemon’s Fast & Free leggings a try.
  • Little compression – Nulux offers very little compression. These leggings are great for running, but you may want something else for weight training or aerobic exercises.
  • Expensive – The prices for BPTs range from $98 to $118.

Should I Buy the Base Pace Tight?

While we love our Base Pace tights, we found ourselves reaching for our Fast and Free tights more because of the outer side pockets. And they’re honestly the same pant, but the Fast and Free Tights come with side pockets.

We’ll continue to wear our Base Pace tights but will know to bring along our Everywhere Belt Bag for our personal belongings.
