I’m here for a fun filled weekend in Venice Beach, California! On Monday we’re going to go watch Lady Gaga perform at the Forum. The last time I was in Venice Beach was in 2012. It’s been a while and a lot has changed. I walked around on a Sunday anticipating that the boardwalk would be busy. There were people but not as many as I remembered. That kind of made me sad. Where was everyone on this beautiful Sunday?
I eventually made my way over to Abbott Kinney Boulevard. Here you can find great restaurants, shops and colorful street art. As I made my way down the street I ran into activewear stores on every block. It was awesome to see how readily available activewear was on the boulevard.
Below are some notable activewear stores on Abbott Kinney Boulevard! I even got to try some new brands and that’s always exciting.
#1 Sweaty Betty
I’ve never been into a Sweaty Betty store before so I was excited I could physically try-on their products. I found that their products fit true to size. The construction of their pieces are definitely top notch. I ended up taking home a Practice Short Sleeve T-shirt and Chandrasana 7/8 Reversible Leggings for only $60! They were also offering an additional 10% off storewide on both sale and regular priced merchandise. Definitley worth a visit if you’re a Sweaty Betty fan!
#2 Aviator Nation
Aviator Nation is another brand I’ve only seen on the interwebs. Seeing the products in person made me fall in love with the brand. The pieces are a bit pricey and probably do well for the Venice Beach clientele. They offer 1970’s inspired pieces that will make you want become a fashionable beach bum. Printed long leggings run $120+ and go great with their striped hoodies!
Get 10% off when you use my link to shop online at Aviator Nation. You can also get 20% off at Carbon38 (with discount code SCHIMIGGY) and at Bandier.
#3 Alternative Apparel
The entire store was 30% off (including additional discounts on sale items). I ended up buying a pair of skater shorts for only $21 (originally $48). I have plenty of hoodies at home, but if I needed one, you bet I would get one from Alternative Apparel. The fabrics are so buttery soft and fleecy inside to keep you warm and feeling cozy.
#4 Avocado
I was surprised to see an Avocado store! I’ve only seen this brand online. I love their color palettes and all their seamless designs. The fabric is very soft and durable. My favorites were the tie dye and ombre prints. I wish I had time to try on their pieces because the colors are just amazing in person.
The store is very clean and displays are minimalistic. I love that they have a ping pong table in the back just past the clearance rack (40% off). Definitely check it out when you’re in the area!
#5 ADIDAS
And finally, I briefly stepped into the ADIDAS store. I haven’t worn ADIDAS since 2007 but their outerwear definitely caught my eye. I may need to give ADIDAS a try in the near future.
I’m so glad I made the trip to Abbot Kinney Boulevard. It’s a great place to visit, and an even better place to buy activewear!
